I really enjoy photographing  new people. Particularly new people that have never worked with a Black woman photographer. Jade is a cosplayer that answered my open call when I was back in Houston in May. One of the things I love to do is give back to my community in the form of complimentary sessions. 

Jade had never done a session photographing her in cosplay. She brought these beautiful soft Fae looks as well as a dark fairy with wings. My friend, fellow cosplayer, and regular muse Tasha played creative director and helped with styling. 

We photographed in the Japanese gardens, which was the perfect backdrop that felt very ethereal and fantasy. And the jokes? We were dinner and a show.
